Still Point

Here I am

Between breaths

Possibly heartbeats

In a place

Where all possibilities

Interplay

Swirling

About my being

Awaiting decisions

Upon which way I turn

Upward

Outward

Or the downward

That I have been intent upon

Yet all hinges

On the next action I take

Continuing the same direction

Perhaps

Changing trajectories instead

Until the action after that

Rolls the dice again

Still

the

Point

Is a step must made

Now

Taking that breath

I

Open my eyes

And my heart

To

You

Author's Notes/Comments:

The "still point of the turning world" is a place of neither body nor spirit, "flesh nor fleshless." It doesn't move from anything or toward anything. It isn't goal-oriented. It's a place where our souls can find a sense of stillness and peace, even as the world continues to change
