Untitled 1

Aloof and wondering without direction toward a distant light,

Tree-branches, gnarled and withered, providing no affection,

Along her journey, she experiences a heavy heart of hopelessness,

She senses no comfort in the darkness of this forgotten forest,

She sought the light but winced as it faded further into the distance,

She crumbled to her knees, feeling the cold touch of ground beneath her cheek,

She whimpered, unable to move when she was overcome with the rays of the light.

It dawned upon her with urgency,

Still tense, she arose and saw another wondering ambitiously toward her.

There was no light to follow because she was the light,

And all those who trail behind would soon relish in its sight,

If she has courage, she can blaze her name through history,

And solve the riddle of her heart.

A mystery untouched by dark thoughts or hopeless burdens,

She stands strong as her followed surround her,

She leads them into the light and frees them of the perilousness of night,

With all her might, she becomes courageous.

As contagious habits spread, the world is blanketed in a brilliant light,

As we all become souls of courage,

And bearers of the light we once followed.
