The Crash

Four wheels surround a monster

that wields the fate of all

that helps the lives of many

but causes some to fall.

It's crazy how the smoke erupts

the sirens howl, the lights ablaze

unsure of how it all collapsed

you sit there in a stupored daze.

And capes and armor shatter round

as weakness cries for all to hear

a life so fragile almost lost

a mind in pieces, not a tear.

Invincible no longer

his eyes now open wide

his courage and persistence

are defeated by the tide.

It's crazy how it happened

and how he blacked it out

the leagues of steel destructed

the onslaught of the doubt.

And why he never saw it

he might not ever know

his mind a shredded puzzle

that a surgeon could not sew.

But still he lies in ruins

forged by paths now dead

unable to be the optimist

who values life instead.

And how could he become that man

when everything just crumbled

his mind, his heart, his courage

and his judgement more than jumbled.

And when will life be normal

and when will come the day

that he can take command again

without a fret or fray.

So from the rubble rises

the failure, appearing whole

his skin and bones are perfect

but the crash has took its toll.
