Folly of the nightingale

my heart is fluttering

lips are stuttering

hand trembling

and words fumbling

a fire course through my cheeks

at every smile i shudder

every kindness you show

re-enforces it to my woe

as everything seems to fadeaway

and my heart begins to lead me astray

but contentedly i stay

from a perch, far away

a pretty story it could be

if you were to really look at me

this is enough, im surely sure

as i feel warm and comfy inside my shell

and outside could certainly be hell

so i sing a ballad to the sky

of the one who has caught my eye

I cannot bring myself to come closer

for fear of braking my perfect dream

for that is all i need

a soft peach coloured dream

so for that sake i pray that you never heed

for the little dull songbird

who sings of a love

so pure and true

that it would break if ever tainted blue

For it was no person of this earth that she would sing for

but rather a blissfull painless love

that filled her heart with a gentle warmth

a love this world had never heard of

for only in her song could it last
