“An inconvenient plan”
It’s been six weeks by now since we end up our relationship, we were together for almost two years. We broke up because we were looking for different things, I wanted to get married and start a family but she didn’t, she was afraid of commitment. Her name was Rose, she was pretty and had this hazel eyes that I really loved, her white skin made contrast with her black hair which made her so attractive, we shared the same tastes of music, I remember we could pass all day long hearing to The Beatles album, she has this great sense of humor and laughed at all my bad jokes. I loved how we enjoyed eating italian food at our favorite restaurant and how every Sunday we took our dogs for a walk to Central Park.
All these memories made me miss her more and more so I went to her apartment to see her and try to convince her that I was the best for her and that we were the perfect couple that everyone dreamed off, but when I arrived to the apartment I found something really strange, there was a car that I have never seen, parked in front of her apartment.
I was sure that I was going to convince her and we were going to get back together but when I was getting near it, a strange man and Rose came out from her apartment, they were just saying goodbye but I suddenly overheard them talking about going the next day for dinner to our favorite Italian restaurant. This got me so annoyed that I started thinking about a plan to make them break up and I came up with this brilliant idea, Rose was afraid of marriage so I bought a marriage ring, a ring that would make my plan work.
The next day I went to the Italian restaurant and waited until they showed up. When they finally arrived to it and ordered the food I asked the waiter to give them some champagne and to put the ring inside Rose’s cup. I waited for this to happen sited at a table in which they couldn’t see me, and then finally the special moment arrived. The waiter arrived to the table and gave them the cups filled with champagne, I was waiting for the annoyed reaction that I knew Rose was going to have but to my surprise a smile appeared in her face, her eyes started to shine and a few tears came out from them. The next thing I heard she said was something I never expected from her, she said “Yes, Of course I want to marry you.”
I saw how they hug and kissed each other, I was devastated. I asked the waiter for the check, payed for it and went outside for a walk and thought that maybe we weren’t meant to be.
