a slave to this sphere

on the other side of ease

your constant days
go
veiled

shriveled like shame
you survive
as you would
in the opaque

exiled from existing
listless and hunting want
you wander there
you know love was yours

a slave to this sphere

and you are pointed at by sharpened tongues

now unwelcomed
night into morning
another outsider
you know
yours
is wandering in the night

only on the erect side of
ease

you were seized
by the sleeve of your heart

longing for a setting
longing to remain safe
it doesn't work

you ask why
how can you please

now even more wounded

oh! to recover

to unfurl
as the wind dies
and an unusual air starts to surround
wrap the shell around

even in tear soaked innocence

your trials

wish to write
in clear letters
rising above your lines

be within each letter
and soar gentle
into the perpetual
in the artful life of your words
so they may be forgiven

to get back on the right side of ease
