into black velvet night
occupy space and time
summer winds as is natures right
give cadence to this rhyme
studded stars with gleaming essence
breathe in the mist from Oceanus
seems the flickering is bound by sequence
rings of Saturn, transit of Venus
something that troubadours, lovers and poets sense
strands of golden filigree sing
knock the devil off my shoulder falling
begin rumbling, tumbling, swelling
hear the giant ocean’s speech
while the moon can only fathom
the advent of love never out of reach
eerie light with spectral see my phantasm
the commitment of spirit
that deliberate excitement
into the mystical flight of enticement
blissful on ascent
and I am here in the present
heat lightning with luminous flash
waves on the summer shore simultanously crash
disappear with the foam and light to a greater extent
onto the dawn,
out of the black velvet night
