My Heart Perished Too

When your heart perished, so did mine.

In my dreams, I searched for you.

I sat in the darkness and

hoped it was you sitting in the dark with me.

You were my precious soul,

you were the other half of my heart.

It no longer beats the same.

I hear your laughter, I ran to the sound

but you were never there.

I felt your body next to mine in our bed,

it was nothing but your shirt I held onto.

Looked out the window,

I saw your lifeless spirit running in the street.

I ran so fast after you, but I only found the wind.

Hear so many noises in the house,

I always expected you to walk into my room.

Was it wrong to beg God to bring you back to me?

To be so selfish to heal my broken heart?

No one can tell me to go,

I'll wait forever for you to come back to me.

I lay next to your grave,

close my eyes,

I'm back in our bed, you next to me.

Life is complete again.
