There’s no reason to be scared
As fear looks you in the eye
I will always be prepared
As a faithful shield by your side
Fire may escape
From deep within the dragon’s mouth
I am the water
The voracious current putting him out
Putting him back in place
Back with all the other feeble misled sheep
Holding the rod with one hand
While the other calmly caresses you to sleep
All it would take is an act
Not even a request
One wrong move
And I’ll lay the beast to rest
I know you’re afraid
All I ask is that you have just a little bit of faith
I’ve already seen my own death
Not even a giant can budge me from my place
I give you shade
I give you peace
I am the great aged rock skinned tree
My life’s been laid
For the cost of your enemies
Ensuring tomorrow’s sunrise they’ll never see…
Enemies
Read Don L. Lee (Haki Madhubuti) "Enemies" Broadside Press, Detroit. Definition of my enemies are not rubber stamped or mass produced by govt entities or commentators or warriors. Worse, I am not afraid. At 63, death is a friend and nothing else can happen except suffering - the definition of hell. Very subjective. Interesting posture - If we were being bombed and you had a means to take them out, we could talk - otherwise, tanks on broadway - now there's a poem! ~Lady A~
