Wrong Turn

A man sits in a hall,

Dazed and confused staring at the wall.

Ok enough…

Up on his feet he begins to walk,

Passing by all the doors, no exit signs

But he can hear someone begin to talk.

Too bad none of it makes any sense…

Almost to the end

He hears a faint whimper

Like a trapped puppy

He sends himself into another stupor.

Facing a tattered door

He wonders if he should go through

Should he move forward for me

Would he do it for you???

He chokes down all his pride and moves on whatever the expense…

It’s wide open

The door swings free

Down into the darkness

“ok this one’s for me”

He holds onto the railing

Taking each step very slow

The light from the top is getting dim

“FUCK” the door slammed shut

Now which way should he go???

Well he already came this far

Only God knows why

No sense in going back

No reason to work in vain

“AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!”

What the hell, was that a cry???

Shit… ok no time to waste

Got to hurry the hell up

Time to move with the utmost haste

Fuck… he slips, he falls

Tumbling at a furious pace

The feeling of pain

Brick on bone

He can’t even recall his name

But he can feel the blood

Dripping from his face…

One last chance before it’s all too late

What to do???

He’s not slowing down…

Reach!!!

Take hold!!!

Thank God for the railing

His body hangs over the edge

And for the moment he’s safe…

Take a second

Let him catch his breath

Holding himself with one hand, it’s not over yet…

The air is foul, thick, yet still

Not even the slightest breeze can he feel

A deadly silence surrounds him

All he can hear is his own torturous groans

He clears his mind

Thinks about home

But with that … he lets go

Still no air passes him by

It’s like he’s being sucked down

With that thought he begins to cry…

No more falling, the movement has stopped

It didn’t hurt, it can’t be the ground

Entirely feeling numb

He can’t even move one finger around

He’s froze

Now an even stranger feeling arose

He feels warm

Without a single tear

He’s not use to this

It fills him with fear

He can’t move his head

But he can see the light

Ever more sensing he might be dead

With everything within him, he must fight…

Too late, no use, he still can’t move

But whatever this is, he has something to prove…

The light is coming closer

Driven by confusion he closes his eyes

Engulfed by the bright splendor

He can now feel, much to his surprise

It’s warm

The touch of feathers

Laid softly on his skin

No more pain

He begins to smile

Torn and battered he’s healing from within

Comfort conquers fear

For the moment everything feels alright

Maybe he could stay like this

If not forever, just for the night

His eyes open

Blinded by the brilliance

He can barely make out a figure

One word being magnificence

Only for a moment

Was he allowed to see

Now he is safe

The angel must leave him be

**beep beep beep**   Damn alarm clock

He’s lying in bed

All alone yet gladly at home

Was it all a dream? I guess nothing can be said….

This kept me thinking, until I got to the end. Very interesting, and I can relate
