With every advance, falling further behind.
Our generation views, blind leading blind.

Idols of fame are pillars of pyrite
Leading us into the caves in which they were mined.

Intoxicated for inclusion, pressed into shaped.
How dare even challenge? How dare even think?

Fulfilling the song, they cluster lustfully
Dripping with passion from the shallow glass.

The misuse of gifts for a time of reflection.
How savage they are. How hopeless.

Pleasure has become privilege,
Love, a commodity.

Sitting in the unfinished grave
Unable to view sunrise and sunset.

They dictate the rules
Though never playing the game.

No time to learn from players past,
They create a new lens to see
Clouded by liquid, caked with smoke.
All is skewed. All is lost.

Chivalry is too slow.
The world is about speed.

The pace has quickened with great sacrifice.
The scenery unexplored, knowledge unknown.

The race is over.
Winners?
None.
