patriciajj commented on: "The World Is Closing In" by allets 5 min 4 sec ago
A precise hit on the subject: A precise hit on the subject of objectivity and a sharp analysis of Ssmoothie's intelligent expression.    "Objectivity is an orphan, asking anyone to be its  beloved. Self-articulate, a mind rebels; imaginate and fickle, clarity is a victim"    Such eloquent insight! And:   "The realm of originality is dangerous terrain like some Che looking for a Fidel. The truth is a lie."   A stunning declaration of sad, but indisputable reality. Impressive work.

It takes empathy and evolved: It takes empathy and evolved reasoning to stand at the summit; to see above the mire of so many narrow perspectives and gullible minds battling it out below; to see both sides with sometimes painful objectively. That's no small task!    You see the urgency and said it so well: "Are they not also human?" Words of great importance.

Absolutely! Words can heal or: Absolutely! Words can heal or they can lead us over a cliff or they can tear down the whole facade as yours have. Well said!

Thank you for noticing that: Thank you for noticing that and commenting.  I am very grateful for your words.  All the poems in this series are my attempts to express, by metaphor and simile and without reliance upon graphic or crude language, what so many (in the days of my adolescence) were forbidden to express, or articulate; or did not feel they had sufficient terms for such expression.  Thanks again---thanks very much---for the comment.

Seryddwr commented on: I HATE BASEBALL by chris 8 hours 8 min ago
This poem reminded me of my: This poem reminded me of my own dislike of baseball, decades ago, which was based upon my father's obvious (and often expressed) disappointment that, from preschool age, I was not athletic, being both myopic and clumsy (due to possible nerve damage that afflicted me in my mother's womb), and eventually came to prefer poetry books to playbooks.  After adolescence began, I had some very serious, and pleasant, crushes on certain athletes in junior and senior high school; but no desire to participate with them in . . . uh . . . team sports.

Oh To Explain This: Walking around inside the jab controversy, writing it the black crow is in apposition to  newborn scop and the improbable bard - poet reference--quick utterance of afram; a few words on a page as ink scribblings. Surreal images.. Mandate anything, no abortions, no guns, take the jab or work elsewhere et al and the protest is politically and Constitutionally on!  It is the horse led to water scenario. Limit usa born's freedom and bang! War. I got moderna, no booster yet but when here, I decide yes for me, wanting to live and protect the babies. Joey B is tired--so is the rest of humanity. I fault public education. A nation of sheep. Wait and die, mutate  virus, or not. We have better battles to win. . Bad marketing (in retrospect) shoulda said limited supply, rich first - the lines to get jabbed would still be long. The absence or limiting of the offered jabs and no mandates would have been needed. 79% across all demographics in 4 months. Jab job done! . Mandate is inflamatory language politicized. Not an emotional issue, rationality required and we are not there yet. Remembering that most people do not get the disease; the cases high, herd immune kicks in - deaths/icu stats are falling. The lucky and the fittest will survive.  No on mandates - it cannot be enforced. Workers will quit and work elsewhere. No nurses or teachers or dishwashers. Oh my! . The poem was stretching of images and vocabulary. A fun to write rant. Howling moonward. . Stay well! slc .
