When you were born I smiled thru tears and held you tight
And looking at you I knew right away you were my light
As you grew up I knew just how special you were so true
I just hope you can see what I see when I look at you
When you were little I'd watch you play with such delight
You were a very intelligent child what a beautiful sight
I watched you so very closely and made sure you were in view
I just wonder if you can see what I see when I look at you
Time flew by high school came and I knew what that meant
You grew up and moved away so I made sure my love I sent
we don't see each other every day but our love will never go
someday i know you will see what i see when i look at you
