Surrounds the world
Inside all of us
We all want what we can't have
We all crave to have more than anyone else
Wanting to be the best
Better than the rest
And it controls us...
I've come to realize
Things can be more and more corrupt
As wealth becomes more and more scarce
Because there isn't enough of everything to go around
And there are people starving
People dying
But do we really care?
We're selfish and arrogant
It's no longer survival
But pure egotistical
Money has mind-warped us all
Made us to believe we need it to be happy
Money does NOT buy happiness
And it scares me to think I'm one of the few who still believe this
There are some people out there
Who give me a bit of hope
Who know the value of a dollar
And who struggle but still can be a good soul
Instead of someone who just complains
If they keep breeding
And there are more of these people to go around
Sharing their advise and making a difference
Maybe this won't get much worse
People pray to God, asking him to make things better
But He can't do anything
Until we help ourselves first
He can't just give us what we want
Because He gives us exactly what we need
And we never appreciate it
We need to realize our mistakes more often
And we need to swallow our damn pride
And figure out a way to fix this ourselves
But instead we blame each other
And start wars over nothing
What does that solve?
There's power in numbers
We would be better off standing together
Instead of divided
But some of us just don't see it
Too stubborn to care
Too ignorant to see the truth
Lying before us
One person could make a difference
And could spread it throughout the entire world
But we need people to listen
Open your eyes
Look inside your hearts
I know greed can't change what's in there
Because we all have love inside
God made that a necessity for a reason
But all we seem to focus on is treason
And back-stabbing lies
I don't even watch the news
Because it's all too depressing
Barely any good news anymore
How sad is that?
But who does anything to turn it around?
Not many
If we keep letting it suffocate us
We will fall apart
And when the world collapses from underneath us
With all these problems we've created
We'll be sorry we didn't do something sooner
And we'll be sorry we never looked into our hearts
Because that was where the answer lay
All along...
