Illicit
summer withers like a
long lost love, faded long
to memory, yet kept alive
by dreams warmth, and
her lingering smile, that
dances in the shadows
of moonlit nights, as vows
sacrificed to the dark, cry
dawns waning goodbye,
and in our tears, mingle
with the innocence of
morning’s dew, and the
haunting of forevers promise,
whispered in passionate
embrace, heard only by
the silence of stars, and
the sadness of the moon.
