Seeing the Future
What if you knew what was going to happen in the future?
Do you think anyone would really believe you?
I think that it would be a terrible fate.
Trying to change something bad that was going to happen,
And have no one listening to you.
Trying to help the ones you love,
All the while having them think you are crazy.
Trying to fight an endless battle,
Without really changing anything.
Maybe that is what happens to witches
When they were burned at the stake,
They were just trying to warn us of our impending fate.
Maybe we misjudge people
And commit them without trial,
They could be trying to help us,
And we are just in denial.
