They say the cliche all the time
Home is where your heart is
So I built walls around myself
And, said, "Ain't nobody getting in.
Turning this home into a house
Or, breaking their way in again."
This world is a cruel place
So I heard
So I believed it
Until I had to resist
And, learn for myself
This world is a beautiful thing
Bombs may fall down around us
As disaster makes itself known
Through fires and famine and drought
But, I have now no doubt
That though the world may scream loudly
Serenity bows to nothing
Though there may be anguish
Gnashing of teeth and orphaned babies
Conflicting philosophies
Eyes for eyes and revenge
In the end what remains true
Is that both love and forgiveness remain firmly rooted
You've got to make your own way
Form your own opinions
Question all authority
Not be afraid to fail
And, when you try, try your best
So, when your time comes
You'll know you tested your heart fully
