I fell from the sky

Up from the horizon deep within my eyes

Beams of moon

Twinkling brightly out of yours

Pretty suns soon burning in heaven’s own backyard

And, though, I don’t know where you are

I can't forget how you gave away so much so freely

And, now, I’m not afraid to say

I can feel love sneaking up to the squeaking door

And, turning the handle to my recently oiled heart

Attempting to open the cage



Your delicate fingers

I could hold and protect for a lifetime

And, that still wouldn’t satisfy me

Sixty years of marriage
