Where’ve you been

Or did you not notice

Time’s been wearing thin

That, time’s been wearing thin



There she is

The face of all the dreaming

My heart’s been living in

Yeah, that’s her

Oh, life’s so good to live

Oh, life’s been good this year



The air seems so perfect now

Standing on the shore of Lake Michigan

The sun is settling on down

Just as I feel my life begin

When you leave

It’s okay not looking back

On what you’ve seen

If you feel there’s more you need



Here I am

The shell of all the dreaming

My soul’s been living in

That on the day I open my eyes up to see her

My dreams will have hardly touched her
