Been so lonesome so long

I hardly remember not being

I heard a man as he passed away

Say, “Nothing stays except the same.

And nothing says life like a little pain,

Except for maybe a little love.”



As for me

I’ve lost the will to disagree

Along with the strength to try



Said a prayer the other day

But nothing’s changed

And it’s hard to say why

And even harder to say when

I don’t even know why I did
