Draggin'

Folder:
2005 - 2006

Messy hair and an obvious rebellion under her skin

I’ve seen her often, though can’t say I’ve known her

Saw her stick her head out of the window of a moving car

And as she opened her mouth I could hear the world escape from it

And oh how that sound can take the chill and set it on fire

I think she’s as honest as man draggin’ his feet

For miles I’ve been on her trail draggin’ my feet

Or maybe it’s just been a matter of steps

Either way, she’s lying just enough to make me stay

As clear as the fog will allow me to see

Maybe a hundred or two feet in front of myself

I swear sometimes I’d just as well have no sight at all

Cause I can feel her presence preceding but I can’t trace her figure

Damn, I don’t think even a knife could cut this curtain now

I think she’s as honest as man draggin’ his feet

For miles I’ve been on her trail draggin’ my feet

Or maybe it’s just been a matter of steps

Either way, she’s lying just enough to make me stay

I think I heard someone one time say

That she had a little trouble back in her youth

And now she’s just looking for something to cling to

Right or wrong, just something to cling to

I think she’s as honest as a man draggin’ his feet

For miles I’ve been on her trail draggin’ my feet

Or maybe it’s just been a matter of steps

I’ve been draggin’ my feet seems like for a lifetime

Now I can’t tell if she’s in front of me

Or just a world behind me
