Just as I flipped the page there it was

Last years birthday card

And for some reason it doesn't mean that much

But I know it did back then

Last years birthday card must have meant something

I still remember writing that message to you

And how I thought it might make you smile

But I don't know if it did, we haven't talked since

And I think for some reason that's how it was meant to be

But looking back now I wish I would've written more

If I'd only known

Those were the last words I'd ever write you

I'd have written so much more

I'd have remembered so much more

I didn't know my best wishes wouldn't mean a thing

I still give you my best even a year later
