All this distance

Separating two hearts

Searching for anything

That’ll hide what they already know

After one half departed

Now the other half’s never whole



(Now listen)

Cause here approaches the wave

And we’re too deep to keep our heads above the water

Only God could save us, before it pulls us under any farther



I risk it for nothing

As if the moment was made for

Seeing the light fall from the sky

And knowing, it was for you and I

And knowing, the moment wouldn’t vanish

Even if the experience did



System, fail me now

Reinvent, something worth while

Just give her back the smile

I’m not seeing now



Cause here approaches the wave

And we’re too deep to try and save ourselves, let alone each other

Now only God can save us

Cause, God knows, we can’t each other
