The Way She Said She Would

Folder:
2005 - 2006

After so long of sorting through

Trying to find something solid after all the piece's had sifted through

Made me realize sometimes you've got to know when to quit searching

And just let time deal with the wounds

The way she said she would

I'm going to learn how to take my time

Let everything from the past just slide away

Knowing that though everything has to change

I don't have to follow and do the same

The point in life where only love matters

Is the point life has been carrying since the day of her existence

We've just learned to resist it

Not knowing the point's been completely missed

Until we see everything breaking

That she spent a lifetime trying to fix

Now why'd you have to go give your heart to the regret of the past

I thought I warned you that looking back lasts an eternity longer than you expect

And leaves you longing for the person you never seem to become

I'm going to learn how to take my time

Let everything from the past just slide away

Knowing that though everything has to change

I don't have to follow and do the same

I'm going to learn how to take my time

And let time deal with the wounds

The way she said she would
