A Primitive Glyph

Folder:
Sun Spots

It was not a celestial glyph,

like the sort you see up in the sky,

the ones that are precise in calibration,

 circuitous in their grace

No, it was artless, primal, fundamental,

it held pagan magic made not of

heavenly light but of syncretic stones,

 fragments of bones, ruffled feathers

 and a single tarnished paperclip,

perhaps lent to hold the entire spell in place
