all i see now is trouble round the bend
but we dont need no wishing well
we'll get there in thee end
and all i see is mistakes he's made in life
but he don't need no one
just a whiskey and a fight

there are many ways to get you through the night
when you see an old man at the side of the road
do you wonder about his life
did he do all the things that he wanted to do
and did he meet his wife
the one he's dreamt of long before
before he battled throught life

and all i see is trouble round the bend
but we don't need no wishing well we'll get there in thee end

did he find a good job and did he do it well
did the bills get paid
and the kids get fed
before there taken to hell
or maybe from a bar stool
in the corner of his den
where he probably spent most of his life
whiskey soaked and pushing tin
