THE ROAD FROM MILLBROOK

was

many miles long

sista-like curves

mysteriously dark and damp with nature's perspiration

and still

u proceeded 2 manipulate that automobile in an

excessively dangerous manner

b/cuz U 4 one dangerous minute

were caught up in the

whirlwind of your own fierce tornado,

one created by you

yet we couldn't protect ourselves by

running into the dank basements

shielding ourselves from your harshness

captured

U had no choice but to quickly

immerse yourself

in the flood of words and

release yourself

returning 2 your spiritual ocean's surface

years of submersion

and decades of submission

the quickest tongue moved

the slowness of what was meant

sunk in deep

like an unexpected body into quicksand

Baby Daughter kept professing wisdom

She the TEACHER

U gettin' SCHOOLED

Eyes filled and then released

BLACK RAIN

And many miles were shortened

Winding roads straightened

The darkness lifted

And

The dampness

All internal and external

Vanished

On the Road from Millbrook
