Fix You
When ya try your best but you don't succeed....when you get what you want but not what ya need. When ya feel so tired you can't sleep...stuck in reverse.

The raindrops beat alongside the window and came down to hit the roof with force. Surrounding the air with a feeling of sadness as Katerina stared out and to the streets below, her eyes reflecting pained orbs of aqua blue, glassed over with unshed tears as she rested a hand firmly against the wall, head leaned over to touch the cool glass.
She closed her eyes as the overwhelming emotions demanded to pour over her composure and just breathed but the tears threatened to fall when her thoughts ceased to stop and flowed like a roaring waterfall as it rushed over, hitting the bottom, continuously.
Her closed lids squeezed tightly and a sound escaped her lips before she could stop it, like a twig snapping in half, her hold broke and she slid down to fall upon her knees. Her arms automatically closed around herself like a protective barrier and she rocked.

Katerina's hands balled into fists and pressed against her eyes with force. Her chest felt tight, squeezing her damaged heart in its wake. It was the kind of pain that made your body shake and your skin tingle in its effects.
She didn't move, didn't register when the door to her room opened, nor when it closed. She didn't notice a presence coming to set beside her or the warm hands that wrapped around her a second later and somehow it made the tears flow harder and her sobs more louder.
She didn't fight when those same arms pulled her closer and to an embrace but she turned to hide her face in their shirt, hands moving to clutch the material in a death grip. Her sorrow filled cried muffled by the action.
"I got you. I got you...." The voice assured gently, holding her a little more tightly.

She recognized the voice. It was soft. It spoke with a gentleness that always calmed any storm and put to rest any cares and she pulled away enough to peer up into the face of Daniel.
A man she knew for years and knew everything about. He was someone she always went to for advice, for when she had a secret, for when she had a fit or most times when she would cry.
He had raven black hair and eyes of blue that cared to much and they stared at her with concern and love but it was the way those beautiful orbs would leave her speechless.
He smiled sadly at her as he raised a arm and brought it up to caress the soft skin of her cheek, eyes searching her face, her eyes, before he moved his thumb to rest just under her eye to catch a lone tear as it slipped its way past her walls and whipped it away.
She leaned into the touch, absorbing the warmth, the contact but her eyes scrunched up in pain when her heart once again started to ache. He bottom lip quivered and that was all Daniel needed to lean down, his lips brush in over hers, not fully touching.

"I will always....love you." He whispered, his hot breath casted over her mouth before, lips that had been to afraid to touch hers before, pressed against them in a slow lock.
His hand resting flatly to the side of her face but he didn't kiss roughly, only passionately and she kissed back. Heart pounding wildly in her chest but it wasn't from the ache she felt earlier, no, it was the warmth he sent through her entire body and the love and affection she could feel coming off him in waves.
He pulled away to meet her gaze and his hand ran through the locks of her golden hair before saying, "An no matter what, whether its a raging storm or blazing fire, I would go through both to be with you, Katerina."
The tears that formed then was the impact of his words and not the heartache and with a nod of her head she placed her hand over his chest, his heart. "I know....I love you, Daniel."
Katerina leaned forward, foreheads coming to close the gap between them and rested against each other, eyes closed and she let everything else go except that moment. That one moment....where love filled the empty veil and brought her back to land. That one moment....where she forgot everything else.
