Your words used to echo within my head

But now as you speak I'm able to ignore you

I’m able to forget about the mean remarks

And the way you used to make me feel

I now know I should be treated better

And the whole time I thought I needed you

I really needed myself

Just me

I needed to realize you mean nothing

Your words your thoughts don’t bother or matter to me

I'm able to tell myself that I'm the only one who knows the truth

I decide who makes me feel the way I do

Not you

Or the way you think

I'm my own person

A person able to decide how I should live my life

And the way you treat me

I'm letting you know now

I conquered the echoes

They are only distant whispers

Now I've won and I'm sure of me
