And taken control of my heart
It has taken what I have loved
And pulled it all apart.
No one knows my sorrow
No one knows my pain
I have walked through the desert
And even through the rain
I have scarred my flesh in places
People never see
All in search of something
All in search of me
It isn’t riches and glory
It isn’t fortune and fame
It’s being one whole person
And praising Jesus name
I have seen the darkness
Lived in it for years
All I ask of Jesus
Is to wipe away my tears
Touch your hand upon me
Spirit running deep
Take the monsters far away
Give me peaceful sleep
