Places you must visit in Genting Highlands, Malaysia

The Main Range - also known poetically as Banjaran Titiwangsa in Malay - is a ridge of Granite Mountains that forms Peninsula Malaysia’s north-south backbone. Many of the range’s peaks reach above 6,000 feet and this is where the cool hill stations of Cameron Highlands, Fraser’s Hill and Genting Highlands lie. Genting is acknowledged as Malaysia’s premier hillside station; this Kuala Lumpur mountain peak getaway is Malaysia’s Asian-style Las Vegas. Renowned for its casino, nightlife and luxury hotels, it features the First World Hotel which was listed as the world's largest hotel in 2006 by the Guinness World Book of Records. Dubbed the City of Entertainment, this breezy resort-town is especially popular with locals and weekend warriors from Singapore.

The equestrian centre is located within the Awana Genting Highlands Golf & Country Resort; it’s a good way to spend time within the lush jungle without having to hoof around on your own two feet.

Chin Swee Caves Temple
Situated on a 28-acre plot of rocky forested land, the Chin Swee Caves Temple is situated in the most scenic site of Genting Highlands. This Taoist temple was erected in honour of Reverend Master Chin Swee, a religious figure renowned for his ability to summon rain and drive away evil spirits. The central attraction of this temple is the black statue of Chin Swee in the entrance hall.

Genting Highlands Mountainside

Genting Highlands sport some lush tropical greenery in stark contrast to what you would expect from this supposedly glitzy Asian-style Vegas hillside station. While it may not sound like much of an interesting venture, going out for a stroll is a really good idea; the crisp air as well as the spectacular views of the lush greenery and surrounding mountainside are all simply spectacular.
