A veil descends
It's slick shimmer
And star glimmer
Upon my eyes
Night palms corraled
Bursting grass between driveways
Red cedar fence
Small smooth stones layed this way and that
River stones but no river
Little lights in windows saying
Love
Little swings crammed against a whole
Array of chaises and stools surely promising
Easy Sunday afternoons of laughter
A whole jumble of midnight fools
Clambering out of a squeaky van
Sharing time and space and
Kindness
