WALKING IN CIRCLES (THROUGH A PUBLIC SQUARE)
(T. Beechey)
Walking in circles through a public square
In the murky dusk of the midnight air
Endlessly searching for what isn't there
Yet somehow it's worth all the despair
There's this dream I've chosen to follow
Sometimes it seems barren and hollow
And I don't belong even in spite
Maybe I'm wrong,maybe they're right
Walking in circles through a public square
Against the currents and into the glare
Of my soul burning but I don't care
I'm already learning I'm so unaware
I've passed this way once before
I tried to stay,I was shown the door
Now I'm back again,but there's no use
Especially when I have no excuse
Walking in circles through a public square
Never quite certain of what I can share
I've bore the burdens and spoken the prayer
Has anyone heard? It doesn't seem fair
Where am I going? I do not know
Is it worth knowing? Possibly so
Or possibly not,no one can tell
All that I've got is what I can't sell
Walking through circles in a public square
"I see him lurking right over there!"
Gradually working my way toward your stare
Not getting further beyond nowhere
