One Sonnet For Two
"Paint the moon shading the sun,
and thunder shaking the sea.
Powerless, both Nature and Time
to separate your soul from me."
I've dreamed no dream with you that won't come true.
Love and dreams never sleep, and joy is always awake!
"To sleep" does not mean "dreaming" - - better : take
us as our symbols and blend us through and through.
My glance, your touch combined in Love's embrace.
This heat is more than blush; it's Ardor's bloom.
Our eyes fill each with each as air fills a room.
Two bodies, part-for-part united in Love's grace.
You paint; your art is our sharing total bliss.
For truest Love - - delayed - - is not denied.
We share the rest of lovers, our arms the couch,
and I find my sweetest wish : I find and touch
the pallet, moist of you -- artist-heiress, I am freed.
Life's easel holds the canvas of Joy completed by this.
