the snow fell like stars from the heavens
pondering fame and fortune and all that life holds
crying as though their lovers had moved to another galaxy
i wait as they fall to the earths surface
the rain fell like tears from a widow's hazy eyes
pondering love and loss and all that resides in life
laughing at the thought of love I sat still with contempt
hope is for the hopeless I thought
blood fell from the cuts that held regret
singing songs as they fell; hoping to have purpose
life and pain go hand in hand I thought
but I still couldn't bear the truth
