When I was born
I was so small
I must be very cute
Everybody greeted me
With laughter and smile
Calling out my name
That seemed to bring
So much joy to them
Brother and sister
Ran around me
And patted me all over
The first day I was home
As if they had a new pet
I must be the most
Pampered person
In the whole wide world
With milk from mum
Everytime I raised
My little alarm
Mama all the while
Cuddling and serenading
Me with her lullabies
In a voice so young and vibrant
They still rang in my heart
When my first tooth
Started to bud
Late granny was so amazed
she put her forefinger
Into my soft little mouth
To feel its edge
I could still feel the salt
Of her invasive forefinger on
My tastebuds as it danced
round my tooth
Soon as I began to babble
My first words
Brothers and sisters
Were so overblown with enthusiasm
They inundated me with
A barrage of their words
Baffling my little mind
My snailpace progress with words
Must have bored them
They left me after a while
In my little fenced-up bed
To chuckle with my little
Vocabulaires...dadada..mama..ma
The world just began...
