And you may plug away incessantly
Towards ideologies of self too perfect.
You may work and try to shed the dead
Paradise you did not know you lived in.
And want will infect you with such ferocity
That any deviation is unacceptable
And any progression is not good enough.
Pray do take time to praise yourself,
Take merit from yourself for the rest of you
Others do not get to see.
For too much is filled from the words of others
From what we deprived our own monologue from.
So please bask in your tainted glory,
Stagnant in its solitary.
For what comes of the good
In all of the bad
Is undoubtedly worthy
Of a brighter spotlight.
