Still gray

You notice me so well

And I appreciate that you can tell

You see me inside and you know

The colors that just won’t show

I am thankful for your sentiments

Your well wishes seem heaven sent

For you can tell by the look in my eyes

The feelings I struggle to hide

And like you I want my colors to show

But desperate and alone, what am I to do

My tangerine and pink have succumb to

Hurt and neglected, I am lonely blues

Born November and my topaz fades

I’m supposed to be regal in purple shades

My autumn golds, rusts, and yellows have gone

Bring them back, can you make them stay…

They’ve all been masked by winter grays.
