If I could ever tell you what love is

Then I’d have to say that love is you

It’s you in all of your everything

From your best to your imperfections

And all of your understanding me

Love is all those little things

That are just meant to be between you and me

Love is us when no one else sees

And love is everything that you’ve taught me

In every minute that we’re together

And every minute that we can’t be

Your love is all that love is to me

And if no one believes in us

Then that’s all right with me

Because what’s ours is ours and it’s their envy

Green they are because we have us and they don’t

They want to know how and why, but the won’t

So they may question what love is supposed to be

And simply, it’s just that simple to me

You are what love is supposed to be

And you are everything that love is to me

And if I’ve never known anything before you

I know now that love is real and can be true

Infinite love, my love knows no end to you

For you meet me in my late night dreams

And I give you kisses in my morning daydreams

And a simple thought of you can make me smile

And your voice through my receiver makes the wait worthwhile

And all at once I can cry and smile with thought of our first child

And If I’d ever have to tell you what love is

Then I would have to simply say

Love is me loving you for loving me in love’s purest state.
