Why do you shut me out
it feels like a door smashed into my face
why do you bring me in, if only to shut me out?
Can you not understand that we are inextricably linked?
you cannot tell me you are in pain but not let me lick the wounds.
I try to kiss you and tell you it's all right
But you turn from me and say
"its all right i just need some space".
Cant you see I share your pain
Your pain is my pain!
So do I make it about me
and yell "don't leave me until i can make it right"
or do i let you have you sadness
and give you time to pick yourself up
while the both of us suffer in silence.
