Your Smile
I cannot deny the blessings that you have brought to my world.
The feeling that you have embedded in my heart.
The hope that I see in your eyes that keeps me strong.
The sounds of your innocent voice that makes me over protective of you when I hear you cry.
The joy that sends tingles up and down my spine when I hear you laugh.
The urgency that I feel to be both mom and dad while our other half is down.
The responsibility that I have to be your first teacher, counselor, playmate, and love
I am so thankful to be chosen to receive such a gift.
I often think, “ Do I deserve such bliss, such happiness.”
And I know that all times wont always be good ones.
But that doesn’t really matter too much to me.
Because through me a soul was placed upon this earth, an opportunity that not everyone is blessed with in this lifetime.
And until the day my soul is called back for account.
I’m going to do all that I am allowed to do to raise you, nurture you, strengthen you, and teach you what it is to be first a human then a man.
Guess what I see all of this when I am blessed with the presence of your smile.
