A dream dashed, a friendship crashed

I was having some problems financial

The money I owed was substantial

There was no doubt about it

Didn't pay to shout about it

The evidence was more than circumstantial

My pal came up with a proposal

He said 'Instead of begging a bank for it, suppose I'll

Give you the money, as a loan

You won't have to moan and groan

Remember, I'm your friend and at your disposal'

My pal lied to me, our friendship, gone in a flash

Rushed outside expecting to see him with the cash

He said in his proposal

He'd be at my disposal

Where was he? All I saw was bags of trash
