I know a young lady named Kate

A recent graduate from a college upstate 

Kate was annoyed

No, was not overjoyed 

To be unemployed, didn't feel great 

But any job that Kate desired

All said 'Experience required'

Had one interview, yes

A job as waitress 

Hoped she'd be the one who was hired

Poor Kate! She was heartbroken

She regretted the words she had spoken 

When told 'Kate, you're hired' she said 'Great!

So excited to work there, can't wait!'

A waitress who can't wait? 'Kate, you're fired, we're not jokin'!
