A man of letters, his days are numbered

I met a gal, thought she was smart

Eventually she broke my heart

I'm grateful she didn't break my liver

If she did that, wouldn't forgive her

You'd never meet a gal as dumber

I couldn't see her in the summer

Since summer's followed by uh..fall

She couldn't take that risk at all

I said 'Can't we meet before autumn?'

But all my pleas were for naught..um

She told me 'I don't need a reason

Don't want to see you any season!'
