Met a woman in Bed Bath & Beyond
Of whom I've grown very fond
I just couldn't wait
Asked her out on a date
It's been six weeks
She has yet to respond
As I wait for her response to me
I sink further into despondency
I know I'm grasping at straws
But could it be because
She's become a foreign correspondent, oui?
This is bad. The woman of whom I'm so fond
Should have the courtesy, at least, to respond
I just wanted a date
How long must I wait?
To infinity, and beyond?
