magic desire annihilation

the pull of something I can not want

our favorite possible still blooming

time worn / we slip through the sky

leaderless and drifting

the way we stay here / a testament to growth

doesn’t goodbye just depend on perspective

the way I hold the lens

the precise angle of a wish hitting my body

mesmerize me till I echo in your ears

I swear I can hear sunlight here & sometimes

the way night wraps around me when I know it’s going to end

whispers wine and cotton balls

friends I never dared to hope

blessings hold you fast

I wait for the sky to put you in a chokehold

I tremble at the potential

you keep me fighting for air

so many endings run past my fingers

a discarded heap of my indecision

before finally

a bloom hidden in a sledgehammer

fire I never wanted to find

boom

we have created destruction

& isn’t that like saying / we have made an unmaking

we have ended beginnings / pulled apart unravelings / fucked a singeing

now screaming into what is believed / somehow / to be a void

but is made of more color than my veins

beautiful & infuriating

there’s no point to this except survival

but isn’t that entirely the point

after all

& goddamn you aftermath

making me feel things

I’d rather leave behind
