In the silence we sat and thought,
do we live to learn, or to be taught?
to lead or to follow, minds full or hollow,
spit out conformity, or silently swallow,
to stand or sit, when pushed and hit,
just give up, or make pieces fit,
to stand firm in beliefs held dear,
or tremble and stumble back in fear,
ask who you are, wonder why you're here,
demand the answers to see things clear,
with the more you know, thoughts only grow,
and with your knowledge gained,
from your thoughts you wane,
just a few moments of insight,
flooding the dark with light.
