CARRIED LIKE A BUDDHIST CHILD GOD

You whispered your pain in the ambiance of the night . . . .

Like a lost cat your delicate mews voiced these sorrows

The subtle message of your suffering strewn in the stillness

Memories from your wasted past upon the hot summer air

Carried like a Buddhist child god to the portals of my ears.

Like a message from old wise shamans it transformed me

The pain of your emotions reverberating through my psyche

Like a whispered breath slicing the silence with its vibes.

Your chi a battleground of unresolved passion . . . .

Overcome by the depths of your grief,

I wept in the nocturne.
