THOUGH THEY WILL PERENNIALLY ENDEAVOR

Though they will perennially endeavor . . . .

 

Fruitless the thought that mind human

Could fathom the depths of a deity,

Probe the inner sanctum of its psyche,

Or that a human could be anointed

To proclaim platitudes as tenets of truth . . . .

 

The enterprise is ultimately a fruitless one

As the nature of the entity sought is infinite.
