ARISE LIKE A MONSTER FROM A CALM SEA

Arise like a monster from a calm, tranquil sea . . . .

Emotions once interred now erupt from within

Exhumed suddenly from their internal necropolis,

Exposed, consciously scattered upon an errant wind,

These childhood feelings unveiled as a raw nerve,

A wound reopened, its internal abrasion exposed.

Like a volcano erupting, bits and pieces of the past

Are jettisoned into the consciousness of my mind,

The pain of infant emotions triggered by an external,

Activated by some small, unimportant event in life . . . .

The pain of my past ravages my life once again.
